Betsy James is the author/illustrator of 17 books for adults and children. Her most recent novel, Roadsouls, was a finalist for the 2017 World Fantasy Award. She writes a column on writing speculative fiction for James Gunn's Ad Astra, a journal of the Center for the Study of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas. A longtime desert hiker and painter, she shows her surreal New Mexico landscapes at Matteucci Galleries in Santa Fe.
