Mayor proclaims April 10 as 'Scribendi Day'
April 9, 2021 - Maggie Branch
Scribendi, a national arts and literary magazine, has announced the release of the 35th anniversary of its publication with the upcoming 2021 edition. For more than three decades, The University of New Mexico-based magazine has been publishing the finest work from honors students around the United States.
The 2021 edition will be digitally released on April 10, 2021, in conjunction with the Western Regional Honors Council conference. Print copies will also be available for purchase at scribendi.unm.edu. The magazine is fully created and distributed by undergraduate students at The University of New Mexico.
In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the publication, Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller has proclaimed April 10, 2021, as Scribendi Day. Proclamations are typically issued by a mayor to recognize the importance of a community event, significant achievements by community members, or to signal a city’s role in significant national events. The day will mark the first publishing of Scribendi 35 years ago and its work showcasing remarkable works from honors students.
