Honors College celebrates two staff promotions

The UNM Honors College is pleased to recognize the recent promotions of Joseph Varela to Coordinator ofEducation Support,Honors College, and Alicia Rodriguez-Acosta to Education Specialist, Center for Academic Leadership and Education, celebrating their continued contributions to the college and the students we serve.
For the past several years, both Alicia and Joseph have been serving in these capacities, taking on the responsibilities of their respective roles while contributing their expertise, creativity, and dedication to the Honors College community. Their new titles formally recognize the leadership and impact they have already demonstrated through their work.
“These promotions recognize not only the work Joseph and Alicia have taken on over the past couple of years, but also the care, leadership, and commitment they bring to the Honors College every day,” said Lorena Rodriguez Vazquez, Academic Operations Officer. “We’re grateful for everything they contribute to our team and are excited to recognize their continued growth.”
