Honors College invites alumni to Homecoming celebration

As part of The University of New Mexico’s Homecoming week, scheduled for Oct. 18-24, the Honors College hosts its annual open house on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5:30-8 p.m. in the courtyard of the Hodgin Hall Alumni Center. Anyone who graduates from UNM and completes six credit hours within the college or honors program is considered an Honors College alumni.
The event will feature recognition of distinguished and young alumni award winners, remarks from Honors College Dean Naomi Yavneh Klos, and a silent auction benefiting the Scribendi creative arts magazine as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
"We are excited to 'welcome home' our Honors alumni at our homecoming event this year. There’s something special about coming back to a place that helped shape you,” Yavneh Klos said. “Honors is not just a checklist of experiences; it's a community of relationships: Homecoming is an invitation to reconnect with old friends, mentors, classmates, and with the curiosity and sense of possibility that brought so many of us to Honors in the first place.”
Nominations are open for the alumni awards through Sept. 27 and submissions can be sent via the following form. The awards recognize alumni whose research, professional achievements, leadership, and community service have contributed to the success and reputation of the UNM Honors College.
