Discovery Series
Small Bites - 1 Credit Hour - UHON 375

Instructor(s): Jonatha Kottler

Course Description

You have two choices for your 1-HR option! You can choose to meet several times early in the semester to actually plan the Spring Discovery Series with me. That means you’ll help to choose everything from the speakers to the snacks we serve. Folks who join in on the planning will help at the different lectures, too, everything from setting up the room, to welcoming/thanking the guests. You’ll write reflections on how you think each event went and if it did what we hoped it would do.

If that sounds like too much, but you still want to participate, you can attend three lectures (a mix of Discovery Lectures and 10th Anniversary celebration lectures, so that you’ll have a good choice of dates and times) and write 2-page reflection papers on your experience of the events. You’ll attend a short orientation meeting early in the semester so that you understand expectations for those papers. If you’ve had a Legacy class this semester, you’ve probably already been doing this. Now you can do it for a 1-Hr Credit.

Requirements

Student Planners will meet several times during the term, help plan and prepare the lectures, and write short reflections.

Student attendees will write 2-page reflection papers and attend a short orientation at the start of the semester.
