Sachi Barnaby

Mentor Coordinator

Sachi Barnaby is a senior studying Computer Science, Honors Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Music. In addition to the Pathmakers Program, she loves her community in the Society of Women Engineers and Kappa Kappa Psi. She is from Kentucky, and you can find her around campus playing oboe in the UNM music ensembles, conducting research in the Moses Biological Computation Lab, and taking photographs. If she was a plant, she would be the cherry blossom tree.

Marcela Johnson

Communications Coordinator

Marcela Johnson is a fourth year majoring in  Journalism concentrating in Strategic Communication with a minor in Design for Performance and a distinction in Honors. From southwestern New Mexico, she participates in the Association for Joteria, Arts, Activism, and Scholarship and feels strongly about creating community. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, and editing, which she does lots of as the Editor-in-Chief of Limina: UNM Nonfiction Review and as a beat reporter for the New Mexico Daily Lobo. If she were a plant, she would be the Aconitum napellus, also known as the blue rocket.

Emily Castro

Event Coordinator

Emily Castro is a third year majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a certificate in Honors. She is from Albuquerque, New Mexico and is involved in the Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the UNM swimming club. In her free time, she enjoys grabbing coffee with her friends, practicing different forms of  yoga, and baking. One fun fact about her is that she competitively swam for nine years. If she were a plant, she would be a peony.

Makayla Otero

Service Coordinator

Makayla Otero is a senior majoring in Political Science and Psychology. She is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Makayla aspires to go to law school to become an attorney. She loves supporting her fellow students and acts as the president for the UNM Pre-Law Society.
