Madison Otero
Mentor Coordinator
Madison Otero is a senior majoring in Biology with a concentration in Biotechnology and minors in Communications and Statistics and a Certificate in Honors. They are from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and participate as chair of Juniper Reimagined: a Queer and Trans Student Alliance as well as working at UNM’s Department of Neurosciences as a lab aide. She likes to read, craft, and watch tv in her free time. You can catch them listening to podcasts and audiobooks as they walk to their next activity. Her favorite plant is Echeveria Azulita.
Marcela Johnson
Communications Coordinator
Marcela Johnson is a third year majoring in Mass Communication and Journalism concentrating in Strategic Communication with a minor in Design for Performance and a Distinction in Honors. From Southwestern New Mexico, she participates in the Association for Joteria, Arts, Activism, and Scholarship, and the UNM Hobbit Society. In her free time she enjoys creating, reading, writing, and editing, which she does lots of as the Editor-in-Chief of Limina: UNM Nonfiction Review. You can catch her around campus in theatrical makeup and the occasional Homestuck cosplay (because she enjoys all space media). Her favorite plant is Aconitum napellus, also known as the blue rocket.
Sachi Barnaby
Event Coordinator
Sachi Barnaby is a junior majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is originally from Kentucky, and her favorite Honors class was “Photographic Eye”. She is serving as Co-President of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and is involved with Kappa Kappa Psi. She conducts research in the Moses Biological Computation Laboratory on campus, and she enjoys playing oboe in the UNM Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoys listening to music and reading; she always appreciates recommendations! Her favorite plant is the cherry blossom tree.
Dylan Justus
Service Coordinator
Dylan Justus is a senior majoring in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Military Sciences as well as a Distinction in Honors. He is from Edgewood, New Mexico and his favorite Honors class has been the “Human Rights of College Students” with Dr. Cargas. He is involved with Army ROTC and well as the Ambassadors programing with the Diversity, Health, and Inclusion. He wants to pursue his masters and is graduating in May. He enjoys the outdoors and doing anything with nature and animals. Much of his time is spent studying and with his many pets. His favorite plant is the desert rose.
