Bio:
Dr. Jacob "Jake" Greenberg was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jake is of Spanish ancestry and has roots in New Mexico since the 1600s. Jake is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and uses he/him/they/them, pronouns. Jake found a passion in science and earned 2 bachelor's degrees from the University of New Mexico in Chemistry and Biology. Jake earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado: Boulder studying new treatments for drug-resistant infections. Jake began their teaching career as a faculty member at Cal Poly Humboldt teaching undergraduate chemistry courses. Jake moved back to UNM in 2021, teaching and researching in Honors and University College and the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. Outside academics, Jake likes running with his Husky mix, solving jigsaw puzzles, reading and re-reading high fantasy and science fiction novels, and taking care of too many plants.
Research Interest:
The Greenberg Research Group is broadly interested in studying student success in higher education with 3 major branches of research: 1. Course Assessment, 2. Human Rights, and 3. The Development of Culturally Sensitive Teaching Practices and Laboratories.
